Coaching Philosophy
“ How you do anything is how you do everything .”
“ Are you building UP or are you tearing DOWN ? “
“ Servant Leadership “
A culture of high standards but weak relationships will feel like a dictatorship, while a culture of strong relationships but low standards will lead to poor results.
Without relationships, standards of behavior can only be so high. And without high standards of behavior , relationships rooted in mutual respect and trust cannot happen.
MISSION STATEMENT
Why do I coach?
Through a servant leadership model, I want to get the most out of my players and show them that they can accomplish goals that they previously didn't know were possible.
VISION STATEMENT
What is my greatest aspiration for my team?
I want the team to see the true power of what is possible when they work together and ultimately
become one unit.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
What do I want it to feel like being a part of the team?
I want this team to feel a sense of belonging and for it to be a safe place for them. I want them to be pushed and realize their full potential.
What do I want people to remember from the experience?
That they were pushed out of their comfort zone but saw the benefits and reaped the reward.
Who do I want people to become from being a member of the team?
I want people to become mentally tougher and have a sense of accomplishment and a confidence that will carry over to all aspects of their life.
CORE VALUES
What’s most important to me?
Honesty / Empathy / Toughness / Drive
BEHAVIORS
Honesty - This is honesty with players and coaches. Can I be honest with a player and a player be
honest with me?
Empathy - Can I help pick a teammate up , can I relate to how a player feels when they hit a wall?
Toughness - Do I know how to take critiques and criticism and use that to get better?
Drive - Can I keep striving for perfection and keep working especially on days I don't feel like it?
PERSONAL DISCIPLINES
Keep…..Building Relationships
Stop…..Negative feedback or a feeling of failure
Start…..Building up and reinforcing winning attitudes
